After literally dozens of requests for the ‘BATAK Duel‘ source code from fellow game developers I have decided to sell the entire source code!

As you may know, BATAK Duel was coded using the amazing Cocos2D engine (a massive thank you to the lead developer on this project, the incredibly hard working and brilliant Ricardo Quesada…you truly rock!).

BATAK Duel took me 5 months to create and I started with absolutely zero knowledge of iPhone games development whatsoever (I hadn’t even used a Mac before!).  I wrote thousands of lines of Objective C code for the game and had an amazing learning experience!

This source code package is 100% compatible with the latest version of Xcode 4.2, the code was last updated on 23rd November 2011 and now includes the latest version of Cocos2D (v1.0.1) and OpenFeint (v2.12.5). BATAK Duel OS 5.0 Update!

Hi all,

Yes, I know it’s been ages since my last post, but hey I’ve been real busy!

Anyway, just a quick post to let you know that the BATAK Duel game has now been updated, so it now runs perfectly on OS 5.0!

I’ve had many requests for an ‘opponent unlock‘ code and so have included this feature in the updated version.

You’ll need to select ‘Settings‘ from the main menu screen and then touch Manchuda’s face (top right).  A keyboard will appear, now enter the following unlock code:  89427

Now return to the main menu screen and select the ‘Tournament‘ option, you’ll then jump straight to the 9th opponent…Dex!! Enjoy!

…BUT…please note…if you decide to enter this unlock code and ‘cheat’ then you will not earn the OpenFeint achievement even if you defeat Dex or Gorn.  That makes it fair on other players who have made the effort to beat each opponent by not cheating!

One last thing…many players have asked me if I can beat all 10 opponents every time I play.  Now, being the programmer of the game, you would expect me to be able to do this, however, due to the random nature of the Artificial Intelligence code even I don’t have a 100% success rate (especially after a few beers!)
